Urban art rises up as a powerful cultural and artistic movement reclaiming public spaces—driven by voices that have too long been pushed to the margins. Graffiti, tagging, paste-ups, and other street art techniques become more than just art: they’re acts of resistance, calls to action, and ways to build community. These urban interventions turn city walls into canvases of protest, platforms of dialogue, and sparks for collective awakening.
With the intervention “Without housing justice, there will be no climate justice,” we shine a spotlight on a truth that can no longer be ignored: housing must be at the heart of the climate conversation. We talk about adaptation strategies in the face of rising disasters—but what happens to those who don’t even have a roof to adapt under? When the climate changes, our cities must change too. And that means facing a hard reality: the people in Brazil most vulnerable to the climate crisis are the very ones denied the right to a safe and dignified home.
How can we build tomorrow if we’re not protecting the people who need it most—today? Habitat for Humanity Brazil believes in the power of art to deliver a clear, urgent message:
Without housing justice, there will be no climate justice! Without housing justice, there will be no future!
